Have you ever looked at your life and asked, “What is my calling?” You see people doing great things for God, living with purpose, leading others, changing lives — and you wonder if you could ever be used like that. You look at your weaknesses, your past, your limitations, and disqualify yourself before God ever gets the chance to use you.
But here’s the truth: God doesn’t call the qualified — He qualifies the called. When God calls someone, He doesn’t start with their résumé. He starts with their heart. The Bible is full of people who were unqualified in the world’s eyes, yet they became mighty tools in God’s hands.
God Uses Imperfect People
Think of Moses — a man with a speech problem who was chosen to confront Pharaoh and lead an entire nation out of slavery. When God called him, Moses responded with hesitation. He literally said, “Lord, I am not eloquent” (Exodus 4:10). But God didn’t change His mind. He simply said, “Go, and I will be with your mouth.”
Or take David — the youngest son, a shepherd boy overlooked even by his own family. Yet God chose him to be king. Why? Because God looks at the heart, not appearance or credentials (1 Samuel 16:7).
Why do you think same doesn’t applies to you. 🤔 You may feel broken, unworthy, inexperienced, or unsure, but if you’re asking, “What is my calling?” — you’re already halfway there. That question means you’re open to God’s voice.
Your Calling May Not Be Loud, But It’s Real
stop asking what is my calling. We often expect a dramatic sign or vision to reveal our purpose. But God usually speaks in quiet whispers — through burdens, passions, and convictions planted deep in our hearts.
Sometimes, your calling is hidden in your current situation. Are you drawn to help young people? Do you feel moved by the struggles of single mothers? Are you burdened for the lost, the sick, the poor, or the backslider? Those nudges are often the beginning of God’s direction.
When you ask, “What is my calling?” you must be willing to listen with a surrendered heart. God’s voice is not always loud, but it is clear to the one who wants to obey.
You Don’t Need to Be Ready — You Just Need to Be Willing
Many people delay obedience because they think they need to “get it all together” first. But God never asked for perfection. He asked for availability.
Look at the disciples Jesus chose — fishermen, tax collectors, and even doubters. What did they have in common? They followed Him when He called.
You don’t need a perfect past. You don’t need all the answers. You just need to say, “Yes, Lord.”
So when you pray, “Lord, what is my calling?” also pray, “Lord, help me trust that You will equip me for whatever You’ve called me to do.”
God Will Equip You Along the Way
When God calls, He provides. You may not feel qualified today, but as you walk in obedience, you’ll find that God gives wisdom, strength, favor, and opportunities. He places the right people in your path. He trains your hands for the work ahead.
Just like He gave Moses a staff, David a sling, and Paul a mission, He will give you exactly what you need for your assignment — in His time.

The church needs you. The world needs you. God has already seen your flaws — and He still calls you. Your purpose is not about your ability, but your availability
